They call me the furngee. It started while building a treehouse with my boyfriend : after realizing that I could, in fact, wield a hammer and his power tools, i earned the title of General Contractor, aka GC, aka Geece. The title implies knowledge, prowess, and says who's the boss. Now I'm the FurnGee.
congrats, i'll admit, i'm a first time reader but i did enjoy it quite a bit. do you do custom auto interiors?

This is beautiful. Now I want to reupholster something. One thought...unless you really like the wood finish of this chair it would be kinda cool to paint it white or the green in the fabric. Or go for some other accent color that is in your room, if you want to be really bold. I do love the end product!
ReplyDeleteI've heard from a lot of d*s people that i should paint the wood white -- but i'm a bit of a wood snob (never ever paint unless it's unrecoverable). the after photo makes the wood look a bit darker than it is, I love the wood with the green and white. Makes it more timeless, less modern (Despite the fabric!).
ReplyDeletebeautiful. keep up the good work. did you teach yourself entirely?
ReplyDeleteditto on the wood sentiments. i hate painting it most of the time, too. do what you want! :)
ReplyDeletetotal props to you! That looks like a major undertaking. I've been wanting to reupholster also but I just haven't found the right chair and worked up the nerve. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeletethat looks awesome! i am definitely going to start looking for chairs to do that to. thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your finished chair! Can't wait to see more. I have a garage full of pieces waiting to be upholstered!
